BenchMark
Privacy notice
Who we are
BenchMark is a lab assistant app for life-science students and researchers, provided by [legal entity name and registered address]. You can reach us any time through Contact us in the app or at hello@benchmarkdesktop.com.
What we collect
The account details you give us (name, email, institution, role and an optional photo); your BenchMark content (protocols, saved results, stock lists, favourites and Learn & Check progress), which is kept on your device; messages and reviews you send us; and whether you have a plan or trial. Payments are handled by the App Store, Google Play or our invoicing provider: we never see your card details.
Mark and papers
Questions you ask Mark, and papers you upload or look up, are sent to our AI provider to produce an answer and are not used to identify you. Please don’t enter patient data or other personal information about anyone in a question or upload.
Why we use it
To run the app and your account, reply to you, keep BenchMark secure and improve it. Under UK GDPR our lawful bases are our contract with you, our legitimate interests and, for anything optional, your consent.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active. If you remove your account we delete your details within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep records such as invoices.
This website
benchmarkdesktop.com uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Our host, Cloudflare, processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. The contact form doesn’t send anything itself: it opens your own email app. If you email us, we keep your name, email and message to reply to you.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data, and object to how we use it. Export backup in Privacy and data gives you a copy of everything on this device. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Age
BenchMark is intended for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
